The Lesbrary Tumblr

The Basics

I run the Lesbrary, and I'm also on booktube and goodreads.

Check out the Lesbrary Goodreads Project for lists of les/bi/etc books by topic and genre

See the Master List of Lesbian & Bi Women Books Recommendations for my favourites!

Support Bi & Lesbian Lit and the Lesbrary on Patreon for monthly book giveaways, or buy us a coffee on ko-fi if you're feeling generous!

Mostly lesbian lit, always bi-, ace-, aro- and trans-inclusive.

Anonymous: Can you recommend any YA books that are popular enough that a normal library might have them, or be willing to get them? Something f/f would be my favorite, but I'll read anything, it doesn't even need to have any romance at all. Thank you! <3

lgbtqreads:

For sure, but just so you know, you can actually look up what books are available at what libraries using worldcat.org. So, for example, I just opened it up and typed in How to Make a Wish (which is an f/f romance I think would be in a bunch of libraries and would definitely recommend), and here you can see over 300 libraries that have it: http://www.worldcat.org/title/how-to-make-a-wish/oclc/994509775&referer=brief_results.

I’d say the most popular f/f YA Romances you’d be likely to see in libraries are Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour, Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown, Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley, Girl Mans Up by M-E Girard, Ash by Malinda Lo (fantasy), and Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova (fantasy).

Outside of that, I suspect you’d be very, very likely to find Becky Albertalli and at least one of Adam Silvera’s and at least one of David Levithan’s books anywhere, and certainly This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp and I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson, and probably If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo, When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, and almost definitely And I Darken by Kiersten White. Maybe Far From You by Tess Sharpe and/or The Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow?

Good luck hunting!

I would also check out the Goodreads list Lesbian Teen Fiction. They’re basically ordered by popularity, so I would expect the first page or so listed would be common enough to check to see if your library has them. (If not, be sure to see if your library can bring them in as an inter-library loan from another nearby system!)
