“The Lesbian Polyamory Reader: Open Relationships, Non-Monogamy, and Casual Sex”, edited by Marcia Munson and Judith P. Stelboum

I found this book in the school library on Thursday and spent a couple hours skimming through it.

All of the contents are by queer women who identify as poly or who have been in poly relationships. There are essays, poems, personal accounts, and definitions throughout the book.

Some women are highly critical of polyamory. They discuss the problems they had in their relationships with jealousy, lack of communication, and other issues which can make any relationship difficult. But there’s also a clear love for non-monogamy throughout a lot of the content. One woman spent a whole essay criticizing poly relationships, and in just a few sentences at the very end, summed up a bunch of reasons for why someone might be interested in a polyamorous relationship.

It’s a good book, I think, particularly for people who are interested in polyamory but aren’t sure how to go about doing it successfully.

On the cover is a black-and-white photo of three womensitting closely together, smiling at each other. It looks like it’s possibly from the 70s.]
