cuntext: hi, just wanted to give you a heads up that referring to a Black woman’s writing as “not eloquent” is a racist microaggression. referring to the recent post on lesbian lit fic with Alice Walker’s The Colour Purple. totally assuming best intentions & just figured you may want to know it might land that way for folks!

That’s a really good point! Thank you for bringing it up. I’ve deleted that note. 

The Color Purple is written in a distinct style—Celie’s voice—which includes intentional misspellings, grammatical errors, and vernacular that might not be exactly what the OP was looking for, but that note without context is microaggressive and unnecessary.
