These are faves of mine that are two out of three: Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova, The Afterward by EK Johnston, Ash by Malinda Lo, and Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst. Also put The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco on your radar - it comes out in October.

Faves that are just wlw fantasy but are so good just read them anyway: Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan, Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust, and We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia. (Clearly there are some naming rules in wlw fantasy.)

Fave that is none of those things but is definitely queer: Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller.

Those are all YA, because that’s pretty much all the fantasy I read, but for older, check out The Second Mango by Shira Glassman, Heather Rose Jones’s Alpennia series if you’re into historical romance, Deadline by Stephanie Ahn if you’re into Urban fantasy, The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon for sure, and 100000% make sure Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir is on your radar for its September release.

ETA: In the Vanishers’ Palace by Aliette de Bodard! I should’ve mentioned that one for sure.
