The Lesbrary Tumblr

The Basics

I run the Lesbrary, and I'm also on booktube and goodreads.

Check out the Lesbrary Goodreads Project for lists of les/bi/etc books by topic and genre

See the Master List of Lesbian & Bi Women Books Recommendations for my favourites!

Support Bi & Lesbian Lit and the Lesbrary on Patreon for monthly book giveaways, or buy us a coffee on ko-fi if you're feeling generous!

Mostly lesbian lit, always bi-, ace-, aro- and trans-inclusive.

seraappreciationday-deactivated: any recommendations for books (preferably sci-fi, fantasy, etc but will take anything) where the protagonist is explicitly a lesbian (like not just ambiguously wlw)?

lgbtqreads:

Self-labeling is definitely more common in contemporary, but the MC of These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling is explicitly a lesbian, and though the label isn’t used, I do remember one of the leads of Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst is very clearly a lesbian as well. One of the two POVs of the paranormal Out of Salem by Hal Schrieve is explicitly a lesbian, and I thiiink it’s explicit but it’s definitely the case that one of the four POVs of As I Descended by Robin Talley is as well. It’s also pretty clear that Gideon of Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir is, though I’m pretty sure it’s not stated. Oh, and Dreadnought by April Daniels, for a superhero series with a trans lesbian.

Outside of speculative fiction, some personal faves in contemp/histfic are: Pulp by Robin Talley (contemp/historical YA), Treasure by Rebekah Weatherspoon (contemp NA Romance), Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown (contemporary YA romance), and the upcoming Late to the Party by Kelly Quindlen (contemporary YA romance). (A little further into the future, def keep an eye on The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar as well.)
