halles-comet:

and they will come.
they will come for the perverts &
it won’t matter if you’re homosexual, not a faggot
lesbian, not a dyke
gay, not queer

I heard this poem for the first time when I was a teenager and it still knocks my socks off.

Right now I feel betrayed by words; there is nothing I can say that says what I feel.

I feel it’s my anger that has helped keep me alive,

alyesque:

Everytime we let a lesbian mother
lose her child and did not fill
the courtroom –
It was an act of perversion.

Everytime we let straights
make out in our bars while
we couldn’t touch because of laws –
It was an act of perversion.

Everytime we put on the proper
clothes to go to a family
wedding and left our lovers
at home –
It was an act of perversion.

slenderaphrodites:

And I knew when I entered her I was
high wind in her forests hollow
fingers whispering sound
honey flowed
from the split cup
impaled on a lance of tongues
-Audre Lorde “Love Poem”

& your sounds drift down
   oh god!
      oh jesus!
   and i think
here it is, some dude’s
getting credit for what
   a woman
   has done
   again.
-Pat Parker “For Willyce”

Although I’d cream my jeans touching your breast,
sweetheart, it isn’t lust; it’s all the rest
of what I want with you that scares me shitless.
-Marilyn Hacker “[Didn’t Sappho say her guts clutched up like this?]”

creatures of ecstasy, we have risen drenched from our own wet grasses, reeds, sea. turned out, turned inside out, beside ourselves, we are the tide swelling, we are the continent draining, deep and forever into each other.
-Daphne Marlatt “Houseless”

My ingenious fingers wait when they have found
The petal flesh beneath the robe they part.
How curious, complex, the touch, this subtle art–
As the dream of fragrance, the miracle of sound.
-Renée Vivien “The Touch”

My Lady Ain’t No Lady-by Pat Parker

audrelawwd:

my lady ain’t no lady

she doesn’t flow into a room—

she enters and her presence is felt.

she doesn’t sit small—

she takes all her space.

she doesn’t partake of meals—

she eats—replenishes herself.

my lady ain’t no lady—

she has been known

to speak in loud voice

to pick her nose,

stumble on a sidewalk,

swear at her cats,

swear at me,

scream obscenities at men,

paint rooms,

repair houses,

tote garbage,

play basketball,

& numerous other un lady like things.

my lady is definitely no lady

which is fine with me,

cause i ain’t no gentleman.
