To celebrate pride month🏳️‍🌈 I ordered this beautiful book (it arrived and i read it in two days because I’m a gay trash).
Before I start talking about this book I want to talk about how hard it is to get lgbtq books around here.
If you want to read lqbtq books then you have to get them online because you can hardly find any at our bookstores. I got only two lgbtq books from a bookstore around they’re ‘Will Grayson, Will Grayson’ and ‘Carry On’. And I’ve been told that both of the books are available because the other books by the same authors are famous around here. I get really sad when i got so excited for a book but I know for sure it won’t be available in here and it’s really hard for me to just get online.

Now back to this beautiful book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
The book was so good I never wanted to put it down! And I never wanted it to end.
My favorite thing about this book is the fact that it takes place in a universe where same sex relationships are normal.
When Mare fell in love with Denna the only thing that concerned both of them was the fact that Denna is her brother bride, they weren’t concerned about coming out and wether they will be accepted or not.
I really really loved this.
The writing was great, a lot of people are saying it’s slow but I don’t think so. at all.
Great story, great characters!

dialmformichele:

Very excited to share the book I recently illustrated, 50 Queers Who Changed the World. Written by Dan Jones and published by Hardie Grant, it contains 50 **brand new** portraits by yours truly. That includes new portraits for people who’ve already appeared on my blog, people who have not yet appeared on the blog, and people who are a little too modern for my blog, so you’ll only find them here. Buy it at your usual book place. ;)

5/5 Stars.

*Note: As of 9/27/17, I have eliminating half ratings. All books from that point forward will be rated with a whole number.

Her Body and Other Parties is a powerful short story collection that blends realism and surrealism, horror and comedy. These are wild and primal stories about women on the verge—of pleasure, despair, sanity. There’s a nightmarish fairytale element to them, a creeping sense of foreboding that takes the fears and anxieties of womanhood and molds them into something palpable—and often terrifying. I loved almost every one of them, and highly recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys strange fiction.

Here’s a pic of my beautiful girlfriend, @wishfulgem enjoying her London fog. We brought lesbian literature to enjoy together. 🏳️‍🌈👭

[image description: a photo of @wishfulgem  in a coffee shop (?). There is a chalkboard behind her that says “LITERATI” with a series of dates and names. There is blurry writing on the wall as well. @wishfulgemis is wearing a black shirt and a black backwards baseball cap. She is holding a mug in front of her face, but appears to be smiling. On the table between her and photographer are the books Girl Mans Up by M-E Girard and The Night Watch by Sarah Waters]
